Molecular Omics transfers from the RSC to OUP
(June 2025)
Molecular Omics, which publishes high-quality research from across the -omics sciences that provide significant new insight into important chemical or biological problems, has transferred from the Royal Society of Chemistry journals portfolio to Oxford University Press (OUP). Bertoli Mitchell acted as the exclusive strategic and financial adviser to the Royal Society of Chemistry in this transaction, our fourth journal assignment for the Society since 2018.
Dr Emma Wilson, Royal Society of Chemistry director of publishing, said: "Molecular Omics has established itself as a home of high-quality research in the -omics sciences providing insight into important chemical or biological problems – carried out by a unique and interlinked research community. As the journal moves into the next stage in its development, we feel it can best continue to thrive with the support of a publisher with a wider biological portfolio and focus.
After successfully completing the agreement with OUP we wish Molecular Omics all the best for the future in its new home.”
Professor Robert Moritz, Chair of the Editorial Board of Molecular Omics, says: “On behalf of the Molecular Omics Editorial board, we have been fortunate enough to have developed our journal through the Royal Society of Chemistry with the utmost of care and support. As we now embark on growing our journal further, we look forward to joining Oxford University Press to enhance and expand our journal to new heights.”
Rhodri Jackson, Publishing Director at OUP said: “We are delighted that Molecular Omics will join the OUP portfolio in 2026. We look forward to working with the editorial team to further develop the journal over the coming years.”
