British Journal of Cancer acquired by Springer Nature

Bertoli Mitchell is pleased to announce that it advised Cancer Research UK in the sale of its prestigious British Journal of Cancer to Springer Nature. 

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research charity. British Journal of Cancer is a leading international journal in cancer research with nearly 75 years of heritage. The press release is here. Terms have not been disclosed.

Bertoli Mitchell served as the financial advisor to Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and worked closely with CRUK through all stages on the way to execution. This transaction further enhances Bertoli Mitchell’s track record in the journal sector with more than 20 transactions completed. Recently closed transactions (2020) include the sale of BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Wiley, in which Bertoli Mitchell represented the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists; the sale of Current Oncology by our client Multimed (Canada) to MDPI; and the sale to OUP of Metallomics by our client the Royal Society of Chemistry.
