This announcement comes at an important point in the journal’s development with Professor John Barrett MD, recently Chief of the Stem Cell Transplantation Section of the Hematology Branch, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda MD, and currently Director of the Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program at the GW Cancer Center, George Washington Medical School, Washington DC, poised to take over as Editor in Chief from 1 January 2019.

Katy Amberley, CEO of the BSH said: “This was my first experience of negotiating such a contract and as this is the Society's main source of income, it was vitial we got it right.  Bertoli Mitchell came to us highly recommended and lived up to that recommendation.  They gained an excellent understanding of the British Society for Haematology's goals during their work for us and this, together with their knowledge and expertise in the journal and scholarly publishing  market, was vital to ensuring the successful renewal  of  our partnership with Wiley. From start to finish they managed the process expertly, discreetly and with a meticulous attention to detail."
