Bertoli Mitchell advises CIPFA on the transfer of Public Money & Management

Bertoli Mitchell is pleased to announce that it has advised the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in the transfer of the journal Public Money & Management to Taylor & Francis.

Public Money & Management is a major international, academic and professional journal covering public sector finance, policy and management. The Editor Andrew Massey (University of Exeter) and Deputy Editor Andreas Bergmann (ZHAW) are supported by an eminent international editorial board. As part of the deal, CIPFA has entered into a licence agreement with Taylor & Francis, which will see CIPFA maintain its sponsorship, editorial advisory role, brand association and free online access for members.

Rob Whiteman, Chief Executive of CIPFA, commented: “Over the last 10 years we have been pleased to have the support of Taylor & Francis in the management, production and marketing of the Journal and under their expert guidance have seen its commercial success grow steadily. After careful consideration of the options our charity trustees and Institute’s governing Council have decided to transfer ownership of the title to Taylor & Francis in order that the Journal continues to go from strength to strength.”

This deal continues Bertoli Mitchell’s work in the journal publishing sector, having advised The Royal Society of Chemistry in the transfer of the journal Integrative Biology from the RSC journals portfolio to Oxford University Press earlier this month, and previously advised on 18 transactions involving journal assets in the last five years.
