Greenleaf Publishing together with GSE Research business sold to Taylor & Francis (a subsidiary of Informa)

(March 2017)

Bertoli Mitchell is pleased to announce that it acted for Taylor & Francis (part of Informa plc) in its acquisition of the business of Greenleaf Publishing and of its parent GSE Research.  Trading as Greenleaf Publishing it is a leading specialist publisher of books and journals in the fields of sustainability, responsible management and accountability.

The GSE Research business was founded in 2011 by John Peters, previously MD of Emerald Group Publishing, and was backed by Finance Yorkshire LP and OKS Group LLP.  The book and journal portfolios of Greenleaf Publishing Ltd were acquired in 2012 and have been expanded and developed since then. The DōShorts imprint was acquired at the end of 2015, to further expand content and relationships in the field.

All Greenleaf’s titles are available within pathbreaking online collections, which also contain material under licence from partner publishers, agencies and NGOs. The majority market for Greenleaf’s online collections is the university business school sector, globally.

Bertoli Mitchell served as adviser to Taylor & Francis from end to end, initiating the transaction, advising on structuring options, assisting in the coordination of the transaction process and acting as the principal contact with the vendors as appropriate, contributing to a successful outcome in a relatively short timeframe.
